UT President Lloyd Jacobs and his wife, Ola, are hosting a Rocket Roundball Social on the main floor of Savage Arena Thursday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to The University of Toledo Men’s Basketball Progress Fund.

The Rocket Roundball Social, which is an event that has grown into a UT basketball tradition, offers individuals the opportunity to meet Head Coach Tod Kowalczyk, his staff and players while an assortment of great food from Toledo-area restaurants is served.

Kowalczyk is entering his third season at UT’s helm and orchestrated a dramatic turnaround in the Rockets’ 2011-12 campaign. UT registered the second-largest turnaround in NCAA Division I Basketball last year by compiling a 19-17 win-loss mark and advancing to post-season play for the first time in five years. The Rockets will return all but one letterwinner from last season’s squad, including second-team All-Mid American Conference honoree Rian Pearson and MAC Freshman of the Year Julius Brown.

Silent and live auctions will be held during the evening; items available for purchase include a Road trip with the Rockets, All-Access Program Pass for a Game, Toledo basketball apparel and assorted memorabilia.

Advance ticket options include:

• Individual ticket for $75;

• A reserved table of 10 for $1,000; and

• Center Circle membership for $2,500; this includes a reserved table of 10, a 2012-13 Toledo Rockets autographed basketball, special recognition and signage at event.

Payments can be made with cash, credit card or check. Checks should be made payable to the UT Foundation.
