Sophomore Manisa Isavas captured the first tournament title of her collegiate career at the Rocket Classic.

The tournament was held at the par-72, 5,929-yard Catawba Island Club in Port Clinton.

UT carded its best round of the tourney Tuesday with a six-over par 294 to finish with a 54-hole total of 891, one stroke shy of the school record established earlier this fall at Illinois State’s Redbird Invitational.

The victory was the Rockets’ third tournament title of their fall campaign.

Isavas notched a career-best four-over par 220 (70-79-71) to finish one stroke ahead of classmate Sathika Ruenreong, who placed second at five-over par 221 (76-72-73). Junior Jennifer Elsholz finished in third place at eight-over par 224 (74-74-76).

Also helping the Rockets to their first-place showing were junior Stephanie St-Jean (T-14th/76-76-81=223) and senior Kate Hoops (T-19th/81-80-74=235). Sophomore Emily Dixon competed as an individual and tied for 30th place at 23-over par 239 (82-74-830).

“Our performance was tremendous, and I want to thank the Catawba Island Club for helping us put on a great tournament,” Head Coach Nicole Hollingsworth said. “Manisa, Sathika and Jennifer all played extremely well, and it’s great to see each of them rewarded for all the hard work they’ve put in.”

Toledo will conclude its fall season this weekend with a trip to Greenwood for Indiana’s Hickory Stick Intercollegiate. The Rockets will play 36 holes Saturday, Oct. 19, followed by 18 holes Sunday, Oct. 20.
