The University of Toledo Medical Center, in partnership with University of Toledo Physicians, will host a community trunk-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. outside the Eleanor N. Dana Cancer Center on UToledo’s Health Science Campus.

Volunteers from across the University will set up about 50 stations to hand out sweet treats and other goodies. Kids — and adults — are encouraged to come in costume for the family-friendly event.

The event also will feature representatives from Toledo Athletics, including student-athletes from the women’s basketball team, who will be available to sign autographs. University mascots Rocky and Rocksy will be on hand, too.

“As a community-focused hospital, it’s important to us that we give back,” said Tara Parker, manager of customer services at UTMC. “This is an opportunity for us to engage with the community, bring people together and create a little pre-Halloween joy.”

Free parking will be available in Area 46, which is located near the Glendale Avenue entrance off East Medical Loop.

There are still opportunities for employees across both campuses to volunteer. Individuals interested in taking part can contact Parker at 383.3520 or tara.parker@utoledo.edu.
