Rocket Family Weekend, the three-day annual campus visit that brings together UToledo students and their parents and families, returns this Friday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Oct. 27, with a wide range of events and activities.
Rocket Family Weekend kick-offs on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Flatlands with family weekend check-in, a live band, a bonfire and several food trucks from the city of Toledo.
Activities for Saturday, Oct. 26, include morning yoga, a movie night and the Toledo Rockets’ football game against Bowling Green State University Falcons. The tailgate will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Flatlands (the Thompson Student Union will serve as the event’s backup location in the event of rain) with music, free food and an opportunity to meet Rocky and Rocksy. The football game kicks off at 3:30 p.m. in Glass Bowl Stadium.
Family Weekend wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 27, with the Toledo Rockets Women’s basketball vs. the Findlay Oilers at 2 p.m. in Savage Arena.
Parking permits will not be needed on UToledo’s Main Campus from Friday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Oct. 27, for Family Weekend. Metered, disabled, patient and reserved parking spaces/areas are enforced 24/7. Regular permit enforcement on Main Campus resumes at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28. The Rocket community also will receive shopping discounts during Family Weekend.
The Rocket Bookstore and Barnes & Noble at Gateway will offer UToledo family members and parents as well as students, alumni, faculty and staff a 25% discount to purchase clothing with a discount coupon available at registration through Family Weekend.
