The Catherine S. Eberly Center for Women at The University of Toledo wants to make the holidays a little brighter for children of UToledo students with a new toy.

From left, Alex Zernechel, associate director for student involvement in fraternity and sorority life, Megan Stoops, president of the National Panhellenic Council, and Yash Shingan, student government senator, place toys in a donation box for children of UToledo students.

Through a new initiative, student parents at the University can register their child or children online before Friday, Nov. 26, to receive one new gift each through the Holiday Toy Exchange in December.

Students, staff, faculty and community members are encouraged to drop off a new, unopened toy at one of the eight donation sites on Main Campus or Health Science Campus.

“Organizing a toy drive to benefit our student parents and their families over the holiday season has been a dream of mine for a couple years,” said Danielle Lutman, program manager for gender equity student initiatives at the Eberly Center. “Our student parents juggle so much, and we want them to know that the Eberly Center sees the work they are putting into themselves and their families.”

“The holiday season is always filled with opportunities to give,” she added. “We hope our campus community will join us in giving back to our student parents.”
