The University of Toledo was officially recognized as an All-Steinway School by Tim Hoy, president and CEO of Steinway Piano Gallery of Detroit, who presented a plaque to Dr. Jason Stumbo, interim chair of the Department of Music and associate professor, during a concert Sunday to celebrate the achievement.
The achievement marks the successful conclusion to a nearly 20-year goal to place Steinway pianos in every practice room, faculty studio and performance space on campus. UToledo is one of less than 300 schools worldwide with the title of an All-Steinway School.
The concert to celebrate the achievement featured UToledo students, recent alumni and current and former UToledo faculty, including Dr. Michael Boyd and Frances Renzi.
The All-Steinway School initiative was made possible through the generosity of UToledo donors and friends. To support this initiative further, visit the UToledo Foundation’s website.
