After each academic semester, Rocket Recharge aims to assist in rejuvenating The University of Toledo employees with their physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

For fall 2020, Healthy U is taking the program virtual and offering opportunities Nov. 16-20 to empower faculty and staff with stress-reducing activities during these uncertain times. Employees can participate in grab-and-go DIY activities, virtual well-being presentations and a virtual 5k.

“All of the events can aid in reducing burnout and have a profound impact on an employee’s well-being,” said Vicki Riddick, manager of employee wellness. “We truly value our UToledo faculty and staff; we look forward to offering this opportunity to help employees unwind through stress-relieving programming.”

All activities will require registration; some have limited availability.

From Monday, Nov. 16, through Sunday, Nov. 22, UToledo employees are also encouraged to celebrate all forms of physical activity and goal achievement through the fall 2020 Rocket Your Way Virtual 5K Race.

“A virtual 5K is a race that can be run, walked, wheeled or any other method to achieve 3.1 miles from any location you choose,” Riddick said. “For example, participants can race on the trail, treadmill, bicycle or in their neighborhood — they get the power to choose how to complete it.”

The Rocket Your Way Virtual 5K takes place throughout Rocket Recharge week in order to give employees ample time to get their miles in.
