For the first time in program history, the Toledo women’s volleyball team is heading to the NCAA Tournament. The Rockets will take on the No. 4-seeded Indiana in first-round action on Thursday, Dec. 4, in Bloomington, Indiana.
The full bracket was unveiled on Sunday evening on ESPN. A selection show event was held at Savage Arena where the team and Rocket fans watched as UToledo learned its NCAA Tournament opponent.

“I am really happy for our players,” Head Coach Brian Wright said. “It’s awesome to see how excited they are and the smiles on their faces. These players have worked so hard to earn this opportunity. Shoutout to the couple of hundred fans who came out here to support us today.”
Wilkinson Hall in Bloomington, Indiana, will serve as the venue for two first-round matchups. American and Colorado will face each other beginning at 3 p.m., followed by the Toledo vs. Indiana contest 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first match. The second-round contest between the winner of each match will take place on Friday, Dec. 5, at 6 p.m.
The Rockets own a 23-10 overall record and earned their spot in the NCAA Tournament after defeating Western Michigan, 3-1, in the Mid-American Conference Championship match on Sunday, Nov. 23.
UToledo defeated Miami 3-2 in the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals and took down No. 1 seed Ball State in five sets en route to the championship. Freshman outside hitter Jessica Costlow was named Tournament MVP while sophomore libero Grace Freiberger and senior setter Kelsey Smith also earned All-Tournament honors.
