The University of Toledo Board of Trustees has formed a Presidential Search Committee as the next step in the process for identifying the University’s next permanent president.
UToledo Board of Trustees Chair Patrick J. Kenney announced today the Presidential Search Committee that will include all trustees, members of the Presidential Profile Committee and external stakeholders that will be responsible for reviewing candidates and selecting UToledo’s next leader.
Kenney previously announced the formation of a Presidential Profile Committee composed of internal and external stakeholders that is working to draft the position profile for the University’s 19th president.
“We appreciate the members of the Presidential Profile Committee for their work in creating the position profile and look forward to the efforts of the Presidential Search Committee in selecting UToledo’s next leader,” Kenney said. “This presidential search is important for both the University and for our greater Toledo community and we are thankful to have such thoughtful input throughout the process.”
Kenney will co-chair the Presidential Search Committee along with UToledo Trustee Stephen P. Ciucci.
The Presidential Search Committee members are:
• Shaza Aouthmany, Emergency Medicine Physician, Associate Dean of Graduate and Continuing Medical Education in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and co-chair of the Presidential Profile Committee
• Eleanore Awadalla, Vice Chair of the UToledo Board of Trustees
• Alfred A. Baker, Trustee
• Kevin Bishop, Student Trustee and member of the Presidential Profile Committee
• Nate Boley, Student Trustee
• Pat Bowe, Chairman and former President and CEO of The Andersons
• Frank Calzonetti, Vice President for Innovation and Economic Development and co-chair of the Presidential Profile Committee
• Stephen P. Ciucci, Trustee
• Lidia B. Ebersole, Trustee
• Randy Gardner, former Ohio Department of Higher Education Chancellor and member of the Presidential Profile Committee
• Zac Isaac, Trustee and member of the Presidential Profile Committee
• Patrick J. Kenney, Chair of the UToledo Board of Trustees

• Joe Napoli, President and CEO of Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye and member of the Presidential Profile Committee

• Thomas Wakefield, National Trustee and member of the Presidential Profile Committee
Education Executives, the firm the UToledo Board of Trustees has selected to assist with the search, will provide counsel for the Presidential Search Committee.
The Board of Trustees previously announced its goal is to have UToledo’s next permanent president identified and in place prior to the start of next academic year.
