Carlson Library will offer students a space to rest and relax, The Relaxation Station, beginning at noon, Friday, Dec. 9, through finals on Thursday, Dec. 15.

The Relaxation Station will feature activities including board games, puzzles and coloring books as well as a positive message wall, a leisure reading nook and origami, sponsored by Jesup Scott Honors College.

“The Carlson Library prides itself on being the go-to place on campus to study and prepare for finals week,” said J. Judson Lohman, event coordinator for The University of Toledo Libraries.

“Knowing this, we also wanted to provide a space for students to take a brain break and de-stress. Managing your stress levels during finals week is important to a successful end to the semester. We are bringing back all our classic activities from previous relaxation stations, like the giant coloring pages, as well as partnering with the Honors College to offer some new activities as well.”

The Relaxation Station will be open during regular library hours: 7:30 a.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Carlson Library will be closed on Commencement, Saturday, Dec. 17, as well as Sunday, Dec. 18., and will have reduced hours of operation, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 20-22.

The library will be closed for winter break, and reopen Tuesday, Jan. 3, with limited hours, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekdays and closed on weekends through the first day of spring semester classes, Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The library will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
