The College of Medicine and Life Sciences got into the holiday spirit this season with a door decorating contest.

Marianne Pohlman, assistant to the chair of the Department of Medical Education, takes a “Rocky Elfie.” She helped create the display with, pictured from left, Jamie Daughton, director of undergraduate medical education, and Tori Buckley, director of clinical placement. Other members of the decorating team are Brandy Brown, database specialist, and Erica Langlois, academic coordinator.

Individuals or groups of up to five faculty, staff and students were invited to create festive doors with the theme “Rockets Winter Wonderland.”

Among the entries is a group that worked together to decorate a pair of doors on the third floor of Mulford Library that invites visitors to take a “Rocky Elfie” with their face behind a snowboarding mascot. Others opted to include office staff dressed as elves or snowmen, use an assortment of snowflakes created with UToledo icons, and one took a scientific approach to explain snow.

The top three groups or individuals with the most votes for their door decoration will receive a pizza party with College of Medicine and Life Sciences Dean Christopher Cooper and a spotlight in the college’s annual holiday video.

View the decorated doors and vote before Sunday, Dec. 12, at utoledo.edu/med/holiday.
