The University of Toledo College of Communication and the Arts will celebrate the season by hosting two holiday events this December.
The Department of Music will start things off with its annual UT Jazz Holiday Concert Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m. in Doermann Theater.
Special guest vocalists Jon Hendricks, UT Distinguished Professor of Jazz, and Kim Buehler will perform at the concert, which will feature the UT jazz faculty group, CrossCurrents, and the UT Jazz Ensemble, Vocalstra, GuitArkestra and the Latin Jazz Ensemble.
Patrons are invited to come early to have free photos taken with Santa. Portraits will be taken in Doermann Theater from 5:30 to 6:50 p.m. and will be sent via email after the concert.
Ha-Ha-Holidays, a concert and theater performance, will take place Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. in Doermann Theater.
Presented by the departments of Music and Theatre and Film, the event will include many of UT’s music ensembles, including opera and the UT Symphony Orchestra, along with live performances of scenes from “Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “The Year Without a Santa Claus.”
Early arrivals will have the opportunity to request their holiday favorites for a pre-show sing-a-long.
Tickets for each event are $10 for general admission, $5 for students and seniors, and free for children who can sit on their parent’s lap. Purchases can be made online at utoledo.edu/tix.com or at the door. Cash, checks and major credit cards will be accepted. Processing fees may apply on credit card transactions.
Free parking will be available for both events in areas 13 and 1N, and a golf cart shuttle service will whisk guests to the shows.
