The University of Toledo baseball program will hold its annual holiday camps Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 15 and 16.

Three camps consisting of hitting, pitching and catching, and general skills will be offered at the Toledo Baseball Practice Facility for student-athletes in grades K-12.

These three separate camps are designed to provide athletes with individual instructions covering all areas of the game and are divided into groups by age for instruction. The Rockets’ coaching staff and players will provide detailed instruction on hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, pitching and base running.

The Toledo Baseball Practice Facility features pitching machines, batting cages and mounds that enable campers to receive instruction in all aspects of the game. New FieldTurf, new batting cage nets and new lights recently were installed to enhance the facility.

In the all-skills camp, players will receive complete instruction in all areas of the game, focusing on proper techniques and fundamentals. Each player will receive individual instruction and ample time to enhance their abilities.

In the hitting camp, there will be complete instruction on hitting only, focusing on proper techniques and fundamentals. Each player will receive individual instruction and ample time to enhance hitting ability.

In the pitching and catching camp, there will be pitching instruction to include general mechanics, grips, fielding and arm care. Pitchers also will throw to catchers. Catching instruction will include stance, receiving, blocking and throwing.
