Please join The University of Toledo Title IX Office at the 2023 Title IX Summit on May 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Thompson Student Union Main Auditorium.
The Title IX Summit began in 2018 at Bowling Green State University. UToledo will carry on the event’s legacy by bringing together local, regional and national experts to provide educational opportunities highlighting Title IX and its intersections with matters of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility. The interconnectedness and partnership among these areas contribute to a campus environment rooted in belonging, which is what this event seeks to foster.
To best demonstrate these values in action, The University of Toledo Title IX Summit Committee seeks program proposals and/or posters from educators, practitioners and researchers nationwide and at all levels of their careers.
These proposals for the 50-minute presentations and posters can be on a wide range of Title IX and Title IX-adjacent topics, including but not limited to:
• How culture impacts the Title IX process;
• Intersectionality and gender-based violence;
• Title IX in the K-12 school system;
• Trauma-informed Title IX;
• Investigations and hearings;
• Equity in athletics;
• Gender-based violence education and prevention;
• Best practices in community-coordinated response;
• Human resources and/or academic affairs and Title IX;
• Student code of conduct and Title IX;
• Gender equity coalition work;
• LGBTQIA+-inclusive Title IX practices;
• Supportive services and resources for those who are pregnant and parenting; and
• Other topics relevant to sex discrimination, sexual violence and gender equity.
The deadline for submission is Monday, Feb. 13, by 5 p.m. Accepted presenters will be notified on or about Friday, March 24.
