Julius Brown has been selected to play in the Reese’s 2015 Division I College All-Star Game during Final Four weekend in Indianapolis.
The senior guard, who just capped off a tremendous collegiate career with the Rockets, will participate on the East squad when the game is played Friday, April 3. Tip-off time is at 4:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium.Brown, who guided the Rockets to an 81-50 (.618) mark as the team’s point guard, received first-team All-Mid-American Conference First Team accolades for a second-straight season this past year. Brown led the Rockets in scoring for a second-straight campaign with 16.3 points per game to rank third in the MAC in scoring.
He concluded his Rocket career ranked second in assists (695), third in points (1,838), tied for third in field goals (635), fifth in three-point field-goals (199) and eighth in free-throw percentage (80.4). He also finished his career with most games played (131), games started (131), and minutes played (4,327) in school history.
Nebraska’s Tim Miles and Saint Louis’ Jim Crews will serve as head coaches for the all-star game. Miles will coach the Reese’s East All-Stars, while Crews will lead the Reese’s West All-Stars.
The game will feature 20 of the nation’s most outstanding college senior student-athletes selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which is sponsoring the event.
