The President’s Backyard Barbecue is back and bigger than ever before with a full lunch menu, outdoor games and activities, and giveaways including Beats Studio Buds, Amazon Echo Dots, TVs and gift cards.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Centennial Mall on Main Campus and at the patio outside of Four Seasons Bistro on Health Science Campus. All UToledo students, faculty and staff are invited.
“This year’s President’s Backyard BBQ promises to be a blast. We’re excited we get to show students, faculty and staff just how special and appreciated they are as we begin our semester,” said Dr. Pamela Rogers, director of Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science and committee chair for the event.
The menu will feature hamburgers, veggie burgers and hot dogs; baked beans and chips; brownies and fresh-baked cookies; and soft drinks and water bottles.
Activities include cornhole, inflatables (soccer dart board, obstacle course) and a caricatures station. WXUT FM 88.3 will be playing music at the Main Campus barbecue, and there will be a raffle on both campuses for the Beats Studio Buds, TVs, Amazon Echo Dots and gift cards.
