The Glass City Singers, a community group composed of members ages 16 to 30, are holding auditions Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 4-5, in the Center for Performing Arts.

For auditions, singers should prepare a song that demonstrates their best vocal ability. Songs will be performed a cappella, unless the singer provides his or her own accompanist.

Tryouts also will include basic vocalization and sight singing.

Members will be selected from the highest quality high school, collegiate and professional singers in the Toledo area.

Dr. Brad Pierson, UT assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, founded the group in 2017. The ensemble exclusively performs 21st-century music by living composers.

“We are excited to build off the success we have established in the last year and a half,” Pierson said.

This semester, the singing group plans to perform the world premiere of three compositions.
