The University of Toledo will host a pep rally Thursday, Sept. 13, ahead of Saturday’s home game against the No. 21 Miami Hurricanes.
The rally is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. on Centennial Mall.
The rally runs in conjunction with President Sharon L. Gaber’s Backyard BBQ, which will take place in Centennial Mall. Food from Barry’s Bagels, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Potbelly, Tony Packo’s and City BBQ will be available, along with inflatables. Additionally, the University will give away free tumblers and T-shirts.
And the UT Rocket Marching Band will once again hit the streets in the downtown Toledo entertainment district the night before game day. The Friday night rally continues a tradition in which the Rocket Marching Band performs at various establishments, marching through the streets between each performance.
The Rockets-Hurricanes game will start at noon Saturday, Sept. 15, and be carried by ESPN2.
A limited number of tickets for the game are still available. To purchase tickets, stop by the UT Athletic Ticket Office in Savage Arena, go online to utrockets.com, or call 419.530.GOLD (4653). UT students are admitted free with ID, and UT employees can purchase two tickets at half off.
