The University of Toledo’s John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation will host the Spring 2021 Virtual Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25.

The Virtual Job Fair provides students with the opportunity to connect with multiple recruiting organizations and help expand their job search from the comfort of their computer. It is open to business majors and minors students only. Alumni of the college are also invited to attend the fair.

More than 70 employers are expected to attend, with an anticipated 400-plus business students signing up to meet with them. Companies looking to hire UToledo business students during this event include 3M, Amazon, Dana, Owens-Illinois, ProMedica, Marathon and Savage and Associates.

“Despite the pandemic, we are pleased to know that employers are still hiring. There are still many opportunities available for our students,” said Craig Turner, career advisor and employer relations for undergraduate programs. “We appreciate the employers who have been so supportive and seeking innovative ways to engage with our students and create opportunities for them, even to the point of having them work remote. This is an incentive for our students to be engaged; the employers want them.”

The Neff College of Business and Innovation’s six-year average job placement rate is 91.67%. This includes 2020, a year heavily impacted by COVID. While the professional and academic worlds continue to be affected by the pandemic, Neff College of Business and Innovation students are still finding employment and making an impact in organizations around the world.

“We are proud that we have been able to continue our concierge services and not forget all of the professional development our students need along the way,” said Dr. Terribeth Gordon-Moore, senior associate dean for Undergraduate Programs and Administration. “Overall, our students are adaptive to the current situation and are successfully doing a lot of their work remotely. The feedback from employers has been overwhelmingly positive.”

This is the second time that the college has offered a job fair in a virtual format. The first occurred in the fall of 2020 and provided students, as well as employers, an opportunity to adapt to a virtual setting. The Neff College of Business and Innovation aims to build upon this momentum and to provide an even better experience for all parties involved.

The college’s Business Career Programs Office hosts bi-annual job fairs for its students and remains dedicated to helping them acquire internships and full-time job offers while pivoting to a digital world. This includes continuing to provide students with resume critiques, interview coaching and assistance with job search strategies via phone and video conferencing.
