The Blarney Irish Pub, located at 601 Monroe St., will host Toledo’s Official NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament First Round Watch Party on Saturday, March 18.
The No. 12 seed Rockets (28-4) will face No. 5 seed Iowa State (22-9) in the first round on Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena on the campus of the University of Tennessee. The game will tip off at approximately 3:30 p.m. on ESPN2, 30 minutes following the conclusion of the 1 p.m. game between No. 4 seed Tennessee and No. 13 seed Saint Louis.
The watch party at The Blarney will begin at 3 p.m. and will feature prizes and food and drink specials for fans to enjoy. With it being St. Patrick’s Day weekend, fans are encouraged to arrive early.
Toledo, which has won a school record-tying 16 straight games, is making its ninth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and the first since 2017. The Rockets earned their tournament berth after defeating arch-rival Bowling Green in last weekend’s MAC Tournament Championship Game, 73-58.
