As UToledo students begin the semester, students are encouraged to take time for themselves — mind, body, soul — with a Day of Wellness on Thursday, Sept. 7.
Day of Wellness provides students with a series of events that promote physical, mental and overall well-being.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Rocket Dining will host activity stations including s’mores making and de-stress crafts for their event, Joy-Ful: Make Yourself at Home.
Beginning at 5 p.m. in Centennial Mall, the University Counseling Center will host Light Up the Night, an interactive event with more than 20 campus and community partners as well as food and a live DJ. Student activities will include glow-in-the-dark archery and yoga under the stars.
The night concludes at 10 p.m. with Late Night at the Rec, during which students are encouraged to explore all the Student Recreation Center has to offer, from the climb wall to the group fitness classes.
“At UToledo, we strive to make students feel supported and provide them with the resources they need to care for their emotional health,” said Aaron Skees, director of marketing for Rocket Dining. “Day of Wellness will provide students an opportunity to explore all of the great mental health resources available to them at UToledo.”
Students who attend all three events will be entered into a drawing for a pair of tickets to see comedian Colin Jost on Friday, Sept. 8, in Savage Arena.
