In recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 15, The University of Toledo and the city of Toledo will honor the civil rights leader with a virtual celebration beginning at 10 a.m.
The theme for 23rd annual Unity Day Celebration is “I AM the Dream.”
Rosa Alicia Clemente, an organizer, independent journalist, producer and scholar activist, is the keynote speaker, and Toledo native Darryl Brown, founder and creative director of Midwest Kids, Inc. and Darryl Brown LLC, will discuss the Unity Day Celebration theme.
UToledo President Gregory Postel and Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz also will be among the speakers at the virtual event, which will be livestreamed through the UToledo MLK Unity Day website.
