Celebrating a New Student Engagement Office Space

The Office of Student Engagement and Connections hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, Jan. 21, to celebrate its new office space in Thompson Student Union Room 1512, which offers expanded capacity to better support students and student organizations.

As part of the event, ice cream drinks were available, which graduate assistant Josh Tienvieri prepared for Meling Bond, a junior in health sciences, and Sanjna Singhal, a junior in biology.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony included remarks from, left to right, Aleiah Jones, director of connection and student success; Jaden Bollinger, Student Government vice president; UToledo Provost Mitchell McKinney and President James Holloway; Sara Clark, assistant dean of students; and Alex Zernechel, director of student engagement and campus events.

The open house also featured interactive stations showcasing the office’s resources and services, activities for students as well as free T-shirts, which undergraduate assistant Joshua Ford handed to Lisa Moguel, a senior in speech language pathology.
