The Office of Multicultural Student Success is hosting a series of training workshops throughout spring semester for students, faculty and staff to increase awareness, unity and fellowship.

Safe Place Training will introduce LGBTQ+ -related terminology to participants, provide them with information on common issues and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals and share what it means to be an LGBTQ+ Ally as well as those resources available at UToledo and at the local, state, national and international levels.

(Un)Documented Ally Training will help participants understand the unique challenges of the undocumented population through a focus on the institutional hurdles that may impact those around the community, such as children of (un)documented parents.

The next Safe Place trainings are Tuesday, March 15, from 2 to 5 p.m. and Thursday, April 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Room 2562.

At the end of the training, these participants will sign a pledge to act as allies for the LGBTQA+ community and are given a “Safe Place” sticker to demonstrate that pledge.

The next (Un)Documented Ally Training workshops are slated for Friday, March 18, and Wednesday, April 6, from 4 to 5 p.m. in Thompson Student Union Room 2591.
