For the third straight year, the Toledo and Bowling Green baseball programs will face off at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo. The Rockets and Falcons will play at the home of the Toledo Mud Hens on Friday, May 19, at 7 p.m.
Toledo and BGSU have each won one meeting at Fifth Third Field. The Rockets won the first game, 5-2, in 2021 before the Falcons won, 5-4, in 2022.
This year’s Battle of I-75 matchup will be the second game in a three-game Mid-American Conference series between the two rivals. Toledo and Bowling Green will open their series at Scott Park on Thursday, May 18, and conclude on Saturday, May 20.
Tickets, priced at $10 for adults and $8 for youth and groups of eight or more, are on sale now through the Toledo Mud Hens Ticket Office.
“I’m really excited to once again play downtown at Fifth Third Field in this Battle of I-75 series,” Rockets Head Coach Rob Reinstetle. “The past two years have been a huge success and it just proves that the baseball community in Northwest Ohio is really strong. It’s always a great experience for the players and our program.
“This year, Toledo Athletics has been unified with the motto ‘Team Toledo’. I can’t think of a better example of the city of Toledo and the University coming together than to watch college baseball at a first-class ballpark. A special thank you to the Toledo Mud Hens for making this game happen again this year. I expect this year’s contest to surpass last year’s game and for this event to continue to grow each year.”
