The Black Student Union’s 52nd Annual Scholarship Fashion Show, a showcase of Black fashion from Black-owned vendors with proceeds going toward UToledo scholarships for Black students, is scheduled for Friday, April 1.

“This year’s fashion show highlights the epitome of Black excellence and scholarship,” said Keith Nelson, vice president of BSU. “Every year the BSU Annual Scholarship Fashion Show becomes the place for Black students and community members to express themselves through fashion. Students have the opportunity to wear the latest fashions, and those not in the show can experience a runway, high-fashion environment.”

The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Thompson Student Union Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m.

As part of this year’s theme, In Living Color, the fashion show will feature clothes in white, red, orange, yellow, brown, green, blue and black from minority vendors including Luxe Dollhouse Collection, the Crown Family Brand, Pressure, D3vin Brand, Cause & Effect, Stylesbymyles and Marc Bales.

The event will be hosted by UToledo students Robin Lewis and Devin Sample.

General admission tickets are $7 for students an $12 for non-students, with VIP tickets priced at $15, which includes front-row seating, pictures with the 360 Booth and hors d’oeuvres prior to the show. Tickets can be purchased online.
