The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division will host the second annual State of Diversity Report. The virtual event will take place at noon on Wednesday, April 21, on Webex. Dr. Willie McKether, vice president of diversity and inclusion and vice provost at UToledo, will share highlights of the division’s efforts across campus.

The State of Diversity handbook will be circulated, electronically, on Wednesday as well.

“We don’t do enough to tell our story,” McKether said. “We are doing good work at UToledo. This is an opportunity for our campus community to see, in one location, much of our collective work toward making our campus a more inclusive and equitable one.”

During this event, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will announce the winners of the Inclusive Excellence Awards. Nominations for Inclusive Excellence Awards were open until April 4. Awardees were chosen based on the number of nominations. Awards will be given in the following categories:

•  Inclusive Excellence, Faculty;

•  Inclusive Excellence, Staff (PSA and Union);

•  Inclusive Excellence, Academic College or Department;

•  Inclusive Excellence, Non-Academic Department; and

•  The Diversity and Inclusion Award, as selected by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division.

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Division is proud to celebrate the work of our campus as we continue to build an inclusive environment free of racism, sexism, bigotry and other negative influences.
