President to Deliver State of the University Address Today

The University of Toledo President Gregory Postel will deliver today his 2023 State of the University Address, entitled “Reimagining UToledo.”

The event will take place at 3 p.m. in the historic Doermann Theatre in University Hall as the University continues its sesquicentennial celebrations.

President Postel’s State of the University speech will celebrate recent accomplishments and showcase the University’s new strategic plan.

It is the first in-person UToledo State of the University Address since 2019. The event also will be streamed live for those unable to attend in person at video.utoledo.edu.

Postel’s speech will celebrate recent accomplishments and showcase the University’s new strategic plan to build a stronger University to provide exceptional education, research and patient care for the next 150 years.

Taking place on 419 Day, the President’s annual address will be followed by the Rocket Spring Festival in Centennial Mall with the community invited to enjoy food trucks, music and activities ending with a fireworks show that will illuminate Main Campus.

The festival will begin at 5 p.m. and end with the fireworks show at approximately 9:30 p.m.
