Organized by the Toledo Roadrunners Club, more than 6,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in this year’s events, which will affect traffic on and nearby Main Campus on Saturday and Sunday, April 23 and 24. A number of parking lots on campus also will be impacted beginning Thursday, April 21, through the end of the weekend.

Students, faculty, staff and visitors who may be traveling on or around campus in the coming days are asked to plan ahead for disruptions due to marathon events and traffic.

The parking lots affected are:

Cars remaining in Area 10 will be towed Friday, April 21, at 4 a.m. to Area 3. In areas 1N, 1S, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 there is no permit required for parking between 3 and 10 p.m. Friday, April 22.

•  Area 12W at the Law Center will partially close Saturday, April 23. In areas 1N, 1S, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 there is no permit required for parking between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.

•  Areas 10, 12, 12S and 12W will be closed Sunday, April 24. There is no permit required to park on campus on Sunday, April 24.

•  Metered, reserved, disabled and patient spaces will be enforced as usual.

Several campus roads also will close over the weekend until the runners have passed through campus. Rocket Drive between Douglas Road and University Parks Trail will be closed for the entire race on Sunday, April 24, from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stadium Drive and North Towerview Boulevard will be closed in the morning for the start of the race. Secor Road from West Towerview Boulevard to Dorr Street will open at 7 a.m. The southeast portion of Main Campus will be closed from 6 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 24.

On Saturday, April 23, several campus roads will be temporarily closed in the morning for the Savage 5K and Kids Race, including West Rocket Drive, East Rocket Drive, Stadium Drive, West Towerview, North Towerview, Bancroft Street and North Westwood Avenue. Roadways are expected to open by noon.
