The annual event, which is held at the conclusion of medical student orientation, is a rite of passage that symbolizes students’ entry into the field of medicine. UToledo received more than 6,100 applicants for this year’s incoming medical school class, ultimately admitting 176 individuals from 21 different states.
UToledo also has upcoming white coat ceremonies for students in several other health professions programs.
• The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will hold a white coat ceremony for students in both the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and Pharmaceutical Sciences Program on Thursday, Aug. 22.
• The College of Health and Human Services will host a white coat ceremony for students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program on Thursday, Aug. 22.
• The College of Medicine and Life Sciences will host a white coat ceremony for students in the Physician Assistant Program on Friday, Aug. 23, and a lab coat ceremony for students in the Biomedical Sciences Program on Thursday, Oct. 10.
• The College of Nursing will host white coat ceremonies for graduate-entry master of science in nursing students on Monday, Aug. 26, and pre-licensure bachelor of science in nursing students on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
