The Toledo Pride Parade is returning after a three-year absence and The University of Toledo again will be part of it.

Students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to join UToledo to march in the Toledo Pride Parade from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, in downtown Toledo.

“Toledo Pride is a great opportunity for UToledo to celebrate our LGBTQA+ Rockets,” said Danielle Lutman, program manager for gender equity student initiatives at the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women. “We are so excited to have students, staff, faculty and alumni from across the University joining us for Toledo Pride.”

UToledo community members are asked to meet on Adams Street outside of Handmade Toledo to check in for the parade at 10:30 a.m. Look for the rainbow UToledo shirts to find the University’s spot in the parade.

Following the parade is the Toledo Pride’s Main Event, scheduled from noon to 10 p.m.

“UToledo’s presence at Toledo Pride will be extra special this year as multiple areas are sponsors,” Lutman said. “Make sure to stop by the UToledo tables sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the Ryan White Program and the Community Care Clinic to get connected to all the LGBTQA+ things for the 2022-23 academic year.”

The first 100 individuals who sign up for the parade will receive a free UToledo Pride T-shirt from the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Those who wish to participate in the parade can register to walk through an Eberly Center webpage.
