The University of Toledo and the city of Toledo are again partnering for “Rocket Week” to kick off another year of Toledo Athletics.
Rocket Week will take place from Friday, Sept. 1, through Sunday, Sept. 10, and is a series of special events leading up to the first home football game of the season, “The Biggest Party in Toledo,” on Saturday, Sept. 9. Toledo hosts Texas Southern at the Glass Bowl that day at 3:30 p.m.
Beginning Sept. 1, events are planned on campus and in the community that celebrate Toledo Athletics and its relationship with the city of Toledo. A 9:30 a.m. flag-raising ceremony at One Government center on Sept. 1 kicks off Rocket Week and pep rallies will be held on campus (Sept. 6) and downtown (Sept. 7), among other events.

Throughout Rocket Week, and especially on Rocket Thursday, fans are encouraged to wear their Toledo gear or school colors (Midnight Blue and Gold) in support of the Rockets. Fans can share their Toledo pride on social media by using the hashtags #RocketWeek and #TeamToledo to share photos of their Rocket flag, Rocket gear, etc.
In partnership with Jupmode, Team Toledo T-shirts are available for $24. Five dollars from every shirt purchased will go back to the Rocket Fund in support of our Toledo Student-Athletes. Team Toledo shirts are on sale now and can be purchased online at utrockets.com/jupmode or at a local Jupmode store.
The Toledo Spirit Squads will be out in the community as well delivering Team Toledo yard signs to supporters throughout the week. Fans can purchase their own Team Toledo yard sign online at utrockets.com/shop or on game day at the Team Toledo pop up shop.
