The University of Toledo Business Incubator and a local nonprofit, EmpoweredAI, will co-host a free, public event celebrating young authors at the Brady Engineering Innovation Center on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The “Publisher’s Party” will highlight books that students between the ages of 7 and 12 published via Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing during a four-day pilot program led by EmpoweredAI in early August. Approximately 40 students participated in the Young Empowered Authors program to explore their creativity and learn how to use artificial intelligence tools to write, illustrate and publish their books.

Their books will be available to purchase during the event that takes place from noon to 2 p.m.

“The UToledo Business Incubator is excited to partner with EmpoweredAI and help support innovative programs like Young Empowered Authors,” said Pamela Moore, director of the UToledo Business Incubator. “By sparking an early interest in entrepreneurship and technology, we hope these students will continue to build on the skills they’ve learned and use them to develop businesses or products that we can support in the fast-approaching future.”

The UToledo Business Incubator is dedicated to fostering innovation and economic growth in northwest Ohio by providing support, resources and development opportunities to local businesses and entrepreneurs. It most recently became a host to the Ohio APEX Accelerator, a grant-sponsored program dedicated to boosting government contract participation for small- to medium-sized businesses.

Event parking is free from noon to 3 p.m. in Area 20.
