“We are fortunate that the job market continues to be very healthy for the engineering field,” said Geoffrey Humphrys, assistant director of the Shah Center for Engineering Career Development.  “The Engineering Career Expo is the perfect platform for our talented UToledo engineering students and graduates to connect with our highly committed employers and alumni. The integrated co-op program is one of the reasons that students come to The University of Toledo College of Engineering — as well as why companies list us as one of their target universities.

“Our UToledo engineering students and graduates are proving that they possess the University’s new brand, The Power To Do, in the workforce and are truly making an impact on the global economy.”

Jakell Wilson, university relations manager for The Lubrizol Corp., said UToledo engineering students, whether in co-op programs or in full-time positions, help to advance the company’s culture and goals.

“They come well prepared to tackle the work at hand and show a strong commitment to learning, collaboration and leadership,” Wilson said. “Some of our co-op program leaders themselves come from The University of Toledo, and they are always eager to support the student experience and our student program. Their dedication makes them invaluable assists to our team.”

Adam Pace, director of sales and strategic planning for Monroe Environmental, said the company’s partnership with the College of Engineering has been invaluable.

“We have hired several excellent full-time employees who graduated from UToledo – with some having worked for us as co-ops and others coming to us after gaining relevant experience with other high-quality companies,” Pace said. “The students are impressive candidates for real-world, professional work. Their co-op experience accelerates their growth personally and professionally and makes them ready to contribute in a meaningful way on day one.

The Career Expo is a ‘can’t-miss’ event for Monroe Environmental because of the quality of the engineers across so many professional disciplines. Plus, it’s just fun to be able to meet and interact with such enthusiastic, talented students.”
