Approximately 700 students and alumni from the College of Engineering are expected to attend the Engineering Career Expo networking and hiring event, which runs from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 27 inside Savage Arena.

Companies scheduled to participate include Dana Inc., Marathon Petroleum Corp., Matrix Technologies Inc., Owens Corning, Owens-Illinois Inc., Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., Toledo Refining Company, The Andersons, Lincoln Electric, Libbey Inc., PCC Airfoils LLC, Plastic Technologies Inc., Rudolph Libbe/GEM Inc., SSOE Group, The Lathrop Co. and many others.

“The current job outlook for engineering students in The University of Toledo College of Engineering is certainly bright,” said Rhonda Moore, associate co-op director in the Shah Center for Engineering Career Development, which hosts the event. “Employers are seeking undergraduate students to participate in engineering co-op assignments, as well as their leadership development programs. Employers are also seeking seniors and graduates for full-time employment.”

The college hosts semiannual career expos to give students the opportunity to network with potential employers.

“The University of Toledo College of Engineering’s undergraduate paid co-op program is one of only eight integrated engineering co-op programs in the country,” said Geoff Humphrys, associate director in The Shah Center for Engineering Career Development. “Our students gain one full year of professional engineering experience before they graduate and possess the competencies and confidence to begin full-time employment upon graduation. Our industry partners provide stellar opportunities in which they train and develop their future talent. It’s a win-win situation for our students and the companies who hire them.”
