The University of Toledo Police Department is hosting one of several Drug Take Back Day events in Lucas County on Saturday, Oct. 29, with students from the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The UToledo collection of unwanted prescription medications will be a “drive-up and drop-off” event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. just off Mulford Library Circle on Health Science Campus.
UTPD’s collection will provide the community a free and anonymous way to rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.
Expired or unused medications that will be accepted include:
• Narcotics;
• Over-the-counter medications;
• Pet medications;
• Prescriptions; and
• Vitamins.
The collection site will not accept syringes, inhalers, liquid medications, ointments or lotions.
The University of Toledo Medical Center also has a drop box for unwanted medications at the emergency room entrance that is accessible 24 hours a day.
UTPD also will be assisting the Toledo Police Department at the Drug Take Back Day drive-through event at Kroger at 2555 Glendale Ave. in Toledo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
