The association selected Dr. Ajay Singla, professor and director of female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at UT Medical Center, to lecture on male stress urinary incontinence.
He will present at the annual Turkish Urological Association congress, which will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 30, through Sunday, Nov. 3, in Antlaya, Turkey.
Singla’s lecture titled “Surgical Management of Male Stress Urinary Incontinence Following Pelvic Surgery” will cover surgical procedures used to treat post-prostatectomy incontinence in men after the surgical removal of all or part of the prostate. Treatments include sling surgeries and implantation of a device designed to work like urinary sphincter muscle.
He also was asked by the Turkish Urological Association to present on the treatment of overactive bladder, which is prevalent in women of all ages and patients with urinary frequency, urgency and urge incontinence.
Singla specializes in the area of urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction in both women and men.
