3 Rockets Named Academic All-District

Three members of the Toledo women’s volleyball team have been named to the College Sports Communicators’ (CSC) Academic All-District squad.

Taylor Alt, Abby Erickson and Izzy Granger were all honored by CSC on Tuesday and all will appear on the Academic All-America ballot. A sub-committee reviewed all Academic All-District honorees to prepare the Academic All-America ballot and all three Rockets made the cut.

Alt carries a 3.92 GPA as a speech language pathology major, Erickson boasts a 3.79 GPA as a chemical engineering major and Granger owns a 3.98 GPA as a business major.

The 2023 Academic All-District Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced Tuesday, Jan. 9.
