Toledo Rocket football fans who sit on the east side of the Glass Bowl are in for a pleasant surprise when they arrive at the stadium for UT’s home opener vs. Maine Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m.
Renovation on the east side of Toledo’s legendary football home is complete and ready for the 2016 season.
The renovation project gives the east side of the Glass Bowl a whole new look. Highlights include a more open concourse, an attractive new façade facing Stadium Drive, as well as improved fan amenities, including new entryways, concession stands and rest rooms.“I think the spectators who sit on the east side of the stadium will really appreciate the improvements we’ve made,” said UT Vice President and Athletic Director Mike O’Brien. “It will be a much better game-day experience for our fans.”
In addition, the team itself will be playing on a brand-new FieldTurf surface that was installed last spring.
Even the Rockets’ opponents will see the improvements, as the visitor’s locker room got its first major facelift in a couple of generations.
