Toledo (4-4, 2-2 Mid-American Conference) will host Ball State in a special Halloween night contest at the Glass Bowl Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 7:30 p.m.
The Rockets are coming off a 51-24 victory over Western Michigan last Thursday that certainly was a treat for Rocket fans. Toledo blasted a Bronco team that had won six straight games and had been perched atop the MAC West Division. The victory kept Toledo in the hunt for the MAC West Division title, trailing Northern Illinois (4-0) and WMU (4-1).

The second half went even better. Peters kicked the offense into overdrive in the third quarter, driving the Rockets to three quick touchdowns to open up a 44-17 lead that proved too big a hole for the Broncos to climb out of. For the game, Peters was 8 of 14 for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Guadagni was 10 of 18 for 140 yards and two scores. Senior Cody Thompson led the receiving corps with six receptions and three TD receptions.
For the second straight game, Toledo’s defense slowed down a potent offense. Western, which came in the game as the MAC’s leader with an average of 467.1 yards per game, racked up 432 yards of total offense, but was held to just seven points in the second half. The Rockets ended the night with five sacks and several key stops on third and fourth down in the second half.
Ball State (3-6, 2-3 MAC) is coming off a 52-14 loss at Ohio Thursday. The Cardinals are led by junior quarterback Riley Neal, who has thrown for 1,917 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.
Toledo leads the series with Ball State, 23-19-1. The Rockets won in Muncie last year, 58-17, their fourth straight win against the Cardinals. The Rockets are 13-7-1 all-time vs. BSU in games played in the Glass Bowl.
