The Office of Multicultural Student Success, Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the College of Health and Human Services have collaborated on a virtual screening of the documentary, “Fruits of Labor,” in celebration of National Farmworkers Awareness Week.
“I am excited about this event, all the partners we have for the event, and being able to host our first event in celebration of National Farmworkers Awareness Week,” said Alexis Samano, program coordinator for Latinx Initiatives in the Office of Multicultural Student Success.

“Joining us in this event will be Justice for Migrant Women, an Ohio-based nonprofit, as well as La Conexion, a nonprofit organization focused on helping the (un)documented community outside of the Toledo area, and the UToledo Latino Alumni Affiliate, Latino Alliance of Northwest Ohio, and Global Latinx Student Union.”
The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. Following the screening will be a Q&A session with the documentary’s director, Emily Cohen Ibanez, and closing remarks from founder of Justice for Migrant Women, Monica Ramirez.
